Main Objectives/ Purpose of the Role:
Rotating Equipment Fitter responsible for assembling, aligning, installing, and repairing rotating machinery designed for use in our bespoke engine, drivetrain, or component test systems. This role involves working with mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, compressors, and spindles.
Works in-house as part of the mechanical build team and aid workflow through the department
Performs basic quality checks and tests of the work produced by the mechanical team
Guides and supports mechanical apprentices when required
Main Responsibilities / Accountability
Read and interpret Drawings, Bills of Materials to assemble mechanical parts, products and assemblies.
Perform mechanical fitting of the range of designs produced by the Mechanical design team.
Mechanical or electrical alignment on all rotating equipment.
Ensures their own work is delivered to the highest possible standards and in a timely fashion.
Interprets technical drawings and provides feedback on errors/suggesting changes to originator using the company’s ISO change control procedure if appropriate
Supports the team by addressing problems / issues that can be resolved within the department.
Checks the build quality of work being produced by other team members as required and influences build standards for the department.
Highlights any issues with floor stock levels to ensure consumables are available for the mechanical team
Completes all paperwork that is needed for the job and ensures it is accurate and up to date.
Helps maintain a clean, tidy workshop environment and helps ensure the works areas are organised.
Communicates effectively with the Production Supervisor if the Production Team leader is not in the factory.
Suggests improvements to designs and work practices to help improve efficiency through the department.
Personal Characteristics & Skills
Have extensive mechanical fitting experience (some fabrication experience would be beneficial).
Proficiency in working with rotating machinery.
Knowledge of alignment and balancing techniques.
Good attention to detail
Have good problem-solving skills

Be able to train and guide less experienced members of staff
